Ten Reasons Why Gay....Wait, What?

Mon Feb 2, 2009, 5:40 PM
I saw this on someone else's journal and was compelled to share it.

*****************************************************************

1. Being Gay Is Not Natural

And real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning, tattoos, piercings and silicon breasts...

2. Gay Marriage Will Encourage People To Be Gay

In the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

3. Legalizing Gay Marriage Will Open The Door To All Kinds Of
Crazy Behavior

People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has
legal standing and can sign a marriage contract. Lamps are next.

4. Straight Marriage Has Been Around A Long Time And Hasn't Changed At All

Hence why women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

5. Straight Marriage Will Be Less Meaningful If Gay Marriage Were Allowed

And we can't let the sanctity of Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage be destroyed.

6. Straight Marriages Are Valid Because They Produce Children

So therefore, gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our population isn't out of control, our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

7. Obviously Gay Parents Will Raise Gay Children

Since, of course, straight parents only raise straight children.

8. Gay Marriage Is Not Supported By Religion

In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

9. Children Can Never Succeed Without A Male And A Female Role Model

Which is exactly why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10. Gay Marriage Will Change The Foundation Of Society; We Could Never Adapt To New Social Norms

Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Repost This If You Think :heart:LOVE:heart: Makes A Marriage!

The sarcasm is quite amusing and effectively brings the point across. Why are people such enormous hypocrites sometimes? Even in my own glorious state of California which was for a short but sweet time enlightened in the ways of rights to all individuals basically got slapped in it's (metaphorical) face during the Elections. Even my own parents voted yes on Prop 8 (Old fashioned and religious and what not.) I actively try to be tolerant of differences in opinion and even if I don't agree with it, I wouldn't completely condemn all those who support it. Also, I wonder whatever happened to "Separation of Church (Cathedral/Synagogue/Mosque/Temple/Etc.) and State.

Alas, what a (ridiculously shameful) pity......Hopefully enlightenment will reach us once more and we will keep moving forward for the betterment of ALL society.

In the International Red Cross/Red Crescent/Red Crystal there are seven fundamental principles that they base all their actions by and I feel as if they apply more than to a voluntary humanitarian organization. Some of the principles include Neutrality, Unity, Impartiality, Humanity, and Universality. Wise principles that many around the world could benefit from.

A rather opinionated Kind Of Crazy Rant Journal brought to you from the inner thought processes of a still rather indignant R.A. Corvinus.

Where did you find this? This is GOLD!

Wholeheartedly (and soulfully ;]) agree with you there, Venn-chan. :]
:highfive:

I love how you copied and pasted it exactly, with "reasons" misspelled in the title, and Every Word Capitalized. *nods*

I love how liberal all the friends in my group are! Change! We need change! x]]

The all capitals bothered my inner OCDness and I was compelled to go through the whole list and correct the mistakes but I felt that it would be better to leave the list intact.

The misspelling of "Reasons" was an error on my part ^^; Thanks for catching that....even combing through journals many times doesn't rid them of all those horrendous errors (it burns my OCD eyes! Haha :giggle:) Sometimes all it takes is a different pair of eyes (or one eye...I don't judge...:D) to catch even the most obvious of mistakes.
:iconcheriblossom13:
It was in another person's journal entry. She said that she got it from one of her own friend's journal entries and didn't know who the original author was.

It is really good though, isn't it?
:iconnew2nbdy:
Definitely. It makes me happy sometimes that I remain neutral in most, if not all of these events. I get to sit back and watch everyone make an idiot out of themselves.

A tad unkind, I would say...
:iconnew2nbdy:
Well, it's true in some cases.

LOL, I'd feel the same way. x] But leaving it gives it more rhetorical value, in my opinion.

Ah I see. x] Hahahaha, the exact same thing happens to me too!! No matter how many times I go over things, things still end up misppelled. Agreed (LOL, no discrimination against those with an odd number of eyes x]). :D
